The Fmaj7 guitar chord is pronounced F-Major seventh. It is a chord which consists of four notes:

This open chord shape is very good for strumming on an acoustic guitar. You don’t even need to mute or avoid a particular string. But I would recommend to mute the a string with your index finger.
